Chromecast volume down button not working

Hi,

My Chromecast remote was working fine initially but all of sudden voulme down button stopped working, all my other button works fine, even the volume up work fine but the volume down is a major concern.

I tried to reset the Chromecast, reset remote, chaining battery, unpair and paired the remote multiple times, and all option i tried to explore, but i am not able to fix this issue.

 

Sometime when pairing multiple time one or two time the volume down worked automatically and set the volume to min but when again trying with button it was not working,  and on later stage that also stopped happening.

 

Please assist with this issue , not able to do volume down from the remote where as volume up button work absolutely fine.

Hi akash2909,

 

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. How did you reset your devices? Did you factory reset your Chromecast with Google TV? Did you factory reset your Chromecast Voice remote? If you already did, try this workaround.

 

  • Remove the batteries and give it a 2 to 3 minute rest.
  • While the batteries are out, press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds to fully drain any static power left on the chipset/motherboard of the Chromecast Voice remote, then release the button.
  • Let the remote rest again for 2 to 3 minutes. Take this time to unplug the Chromecast device from power and give it a 1 minute rest before you plug it back in.
  • Proceed with the pairing process.
