Chromecast with Google TV does not connect to Internet while downloading software updates

I bought the Chromecast with Google TV from Flipkart on 8th January 2024.

On the outset, its been 4 days I have been trying to reach customer support.. No resolution they provided like - reset, wifi reset, app reset.. nothing has worked.

Then going on to warranty claim.. it just does not show the device in the Google account because it was never setup.

Getting a phone call from Google support page is also broken.. just says sorry some issue occurred..

Not sure what to do here.. it's been 3 days of debugging.. losing money .. and nothing works with Google Support.. I am really frustrated with what has happened so far.. can someone help.. ?

Hi shashiranjan33,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. You mentioned that you purchased this device from Flipkart, which is a third-party partner that sells Google devices in India. The warranty claims for this are usually handled by another third-party partner, which is Redington. The full operation of Google has been limited in India, unlike other countries that have a Google Store.

If you’re willing to troubleshoot, you can try to set it up using the remote alone and connect it to your smartphone’s mobile hotspot instead until it’s completed. Then you can navigate using your remote to disconnect it from your hotspot and connect it to your home Wi-Fi. It should then show up in your Google Home App, and you can rename or move it to the room of your choice from the app.

If you still want to proceed with the warranty claims, you can check if your device is still covered by warranty here: Warranty Checker. If it’s still covered, then you can reach out to our support team for a replacement here: Contact Us. You may choose the option of a live chat or a callback from a live representative. They will guide you through the warranty claim process with Redington. I can also send you a form if you prefer communication via email with our support team.

Let us know. We look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Kimy
