Hello! I have a 3rd gen chromecast that had trouble setting up. The problem came during the connection phase.
I went and bought a brand new chromecast with google tv (4K) and the problems continue. Everything is normal during the set up until I come to the phase where the chromecast tries to connect to my google account. I try to set it up with google home app. The error message is something like "Connection failed. Please try again". After this error I can try again or go back to the start of google home app. There I can see my chromecast in the devices tab but clicking it doesnt do anything.
Things that I have tried to do to fix this:
-Buy a new chromecast. Different gen
-Tried to shut off and/or completely reset my router and chromecast
-Tried 2.4G and 5.0G bands on wifi
-Shut off firewall on the router
-Tried to set up the new chromecast with its remote
-Tried to move away all the cables from the vicinity of my chromecast
-Brought the router right next to chromecast and took it about 7m apart
-Restart my phone and re-installed google home app
-I've reset my google account password
The problem is that since it doesnt connect to my google account, I cant see the chromecast on any device other than my phones google home apps devices tab.
I have no idea what is going on and I am getting very frustrated. I am starting to think the problem is somewhere in my google accounts settings or something.
I would greatly appreciate any attempt to help me. Thank you.
