Google TV remotes turning on 2 separate tvs

neoscosmos

Hi!

Just purchased/installed 2 separate onn googletv boxes on 2 separate tvs.

Working splendidly, except my remote for my upstairs box is also turning on my basement TV and box there simultaneously.

How do I get these 2 remotes to stay in their (separate tv) lanes?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi neoscosmos,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry that your Chromecast remote is not working as expected. But no need to worry, help is here.

Before we get started with advanced troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. What is the model of your Chromecast device?
  2. Does this situation occur with other Bluetooth devices?
  3. Does it show any error messages when this happens?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can check for your Chromecast remote:

Basic Checks:

Remove Remote:

  1. To start the process, turn on your Chromecast and then at the top right of your TV screen, select your profile and then Settings .
  2. Select Remotes & Accessories and then, remove or delete the remote that was set up by mistake in the incorrect Chromecast device.

Re-pairing the Remote (if needed):

  1. Open Google Home App: Locate and launch the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Select Chromecast: On the Google Home app screen, find your Chromecast device and tap on it to access its settings.
  3. Remote Pairing: Look for the option to "Pair remote" or "Remote control" within the Chromecast settings. The wording might vary slightly depending on your app version.
  4. Follow On-Screen Instructions: The Google Home app will guide you through the on-screen pairing process, which typically involves pressing specific buttons on the remote.

Hi neoscosmos,

Thank you for following up and sharing more details about your issue. I understand your frustration with the device even after troubleshooting. I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing.

I hope the basic troubleshooting steps work for you, however the device that you have is not under our direct support, therefore the troubleshooting steps and options available may vary.

Contact ONN Support (manufacturer): If none of the above solutions work, contacting ONN support is recommended. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your device model and any error codes you might be encountering.

You can also check the following details to correctly Connect third-party smart home devices in the Google Home app, in case it helps.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Best,
