My chromecast has a green dot in the top right of the screen at all times, even when movies are playing. I know this is because of the microphone being active & useable by apps, but this is an integral part of the device & its voice assistant, why must I turn off microphone just to watch a movie without a green dot? How is the dot helpful? Why would they put such a thing on screen at all times? This is an insanely badly implemented system. From what I can tell from searching you can turn it off on mobile using dev mode, but this is not a phone its a device made solely for watching tv & movies. If anyone knows how to remove the green dot I would very much appreciate it.

Hi @MattSerle9
If you are using the Chromecast with remote, try removing the batteries see if the dot goes away. If so, then you can at least isolate this to the remote. You can then factory reset the remote.
If that doesn't work, reboot your Chromecast.
If neither of those steps work, do a factory reset.
