How to get rid of the green dot

I've seen a few threads about the green dot in the upper right corner of the screen, but haven't seen this answer provided... It went away for me by going to Settings > Privacy and under Device Settings - Microphone find "microphone access." I switched that off and the dot immediately left the screen.

The green dot is a privacy feature to show you when the microphone is active and listening, doing as you have done removes the dot because the mic is no longer active.
