Huge app icon size after resetting chromecast to factory data

Yesterday my Chromecast suddenly hung, powering it off and on did not help, so I ended up having to do a factory data reset on it. After the reset I switched it into apps-only mode and installed the same 7 apps as before.

Before the reset, all apps could fit into a single row on my 43" 4K TV. After the reset, only 5 apps fit into a single row.

In other words, the factory reset resulted in huge rectangular app icon sizes. How can I get the old small icon sizes back?

Current firmware version: Android TV OS: 12, security patch level: 1 March 2024, kernel version: 4.6.9, Android TV OS build: STTL.240206.002.11417109

Been there already. There is nothing there to control app icon sizes.

The link you posted doesn’t apply to Google TV, which you'd know had you been a human being. So, no, your suggestions are not helpful.
