I can't select 4k 60hz

Hey, everybody.

I wanted to connect google tv chromecast 4k to my new titan army c34chr monitor, but I don't have the option to select 4k 60Hz resolution.

The laptop shows that the monitor supports 4k 120hz over hdmi.

I have tried the HDR and SDR modes. I have tried the color formats on google tv chromecast 4k.

I can't find a way to solve the problem. Please help me.

Hi @Beslan,

Thanks for posting here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that you're unable to select 4K 60Hz resolution on your Chromecast with Google TV. I'm happy to help!

In this situation, I'd suggest the following:

  • Ensure your Chromecast with Google TV has the latest software version.
  • Make sure you're using a certified high-speed HDMI cable that supports HDMI 2.0 or later. These cables can handle the bandwidth required for 4K at 60 Hz.
  • Try connecting the Chromecast 4K to a different HDMI port on your monitor. Some ports might have higher bandwidth capabilities than others.
  • Set up the Chromecast with Google TV on any TV. For your reference, you can check out the following article: Set up Chromecast with Google TV and Voice Remote.
  • Then, adjust the screen size and resolution of your Chromecast with Google TV (4K). For instructions, check out this article: Display settings for Chromecast with Google TV.
  • Unplug the Chromecast from the TV and plug it into the HDMI monitor.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Good day to you, Jennifer. Thank you for responding to my problem. You see, the technical specs say that both ports support hdmi 2.1. I've also tried swapping the cables, but the problem persists. I would also like to note that my laptop detects the monitor in 4k 120Hz and the TV detects google chromecast in 4k 60Hz. But when it comes to the monitor and google chromecast, they are defined 1080p 60hz. I will be extremely happy if I can get help to solve this problem.

I also want to add that the latest software is installed, and the set-top box is already set up using the TV

Hi @Beslan,

Thanks for following up! I'm sorry to hear that these inconveniences still persist after the steps.

I appreciate all the details. Let's try the next steps:

  • If applicable, check your monitor's on-screen display (OSD) settings. Some monitors have options to enable or disable features like HDMI Deep Color or High Dynamic Range (HDR) that might affect the available resolutions.
  • Perform a factory reset on the Nest Chromecast. For instructions, you can check out the following article: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
  • Set up the Chromecast again. You can follow the above steps and adjust the screen size and resolution.

Keep me updated.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
