Initialize factory reset chromecast with google tv without remote

Hi there, i got a factory reset chromecast with google tv without remote, is there any ways to initialize it by a smartone only (moto edge 30 pro)?  Thank you in advance.

 

No worries about the remote, i just left it home alone but i will not be back in next couple days.

Hi @AlexanderLee 

There are three other ways to control your Chromecast.

  • Using the Tv remote function within Android (but I am pretty sure this is not going to work because you cant setup the initial process)
  • Use a CEC-compatible remote with your TV --> This is your best bet... 
  • Connect a powered USB-C hub with a device connected to it like a keyboard --> not very likely you are carrying this with you. 

If this doesn't work I am afraid you are out of luck until you have your remote.
May I ask why you performed a factory reset?

Please note if you are going on a holiday you can pick up your Chromecast and take it with you and use it at a different location. Just use the remote (sorry 😋) to set up a new WiFi connection. 🤗

Thank you so much for your reply.

Firstly, it is failed to connect via Bluetooth by phone.

Secondly, it is unlikely the tv supports cec.

Thirdlyyou are correct that i do not have either one of them.

Well, i am still lucky that there is still entertainment by phone for the next couple days.

Finally, it is quite a silly act that the chromecast worked originally but i failed to connect it via phone.  Therefore, i performed reset, then all things went wrong.

Thank you again, i just wanna confirm if there is any other ways to initialize without remote.
