Ok There is an issue I am having when it comes to setting up my Chromecast and I'd like to find a solution that doesn't involve manually logging on, using a new device or returning the Chromecast for a replacement.
Issue 1
Initially the setup with the Google home app worked fine but I noticed my personal account would have to be logged on to this thing constantly. I removed my account and it factory reset. Seemed like it would be a simple task to just use an alternative Google account on the home app for the set up. Unfortunately it did not work. Anytime I tried to start the setup after scanning the qr code my device tells me it couldn't authenticate the chromecast. I have already tried the following.
I'm not sure what the cause is since the help link google provides does not elaborate on this problem. In fact I am just posting this more for others to see and troubleshoot if I find a solution.
