I purchased a new Chromecast with Google TV (4K) on the weekend and set it up with my LG TV. I signed in, downloaded the apps and signed into the accounts. But it keeps cutting out to a black screen – it does so for 1-2 seconds every 10-15 seconds. And sometimes the whole screen flashes black and white for about 10 seconds and then the Chromecast shuts down completely, and the TV says there is not signal through the HDMI port.
So needless to say it's not usable. Is this a common issue? Do a have a faulty unit?

I should add that I've already tried rebooting my WiFi router. And I have also read this post when I was googling my problem, and have tried following the recommended steps (didn't help):

Thanks Kimy. Actually I have since called the Google support number and was sent a replacement. So it's all sorted now 🙂
