New Google Chromecast 4K not completing initial update

I'm having an issue trying to finish setup on my Chromecast 4K with Google TV. I can set everything up with or without my Google home app on my cell phone, but once it gets to the downloading system update screen it will sit there for up to 3 hours so far and the progress bar has moved up to about 20%. Everything I've read said it should take up to about 10 minutes to complete. I've tried doing all the steps mentioned on this forum. I've also called my internet service provider, and the only thing they mentioned is that maybe a "port needed to be opened"on the product. It has disconnected twice, but I had it reconnect without issue. The light on the back of the product stays White

I've also checked the internet speed through my cell phone and other devices and it is saying that my internet speed is 100 megabits per second upload and download

Hi Sackoftaters,

 

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. I’m sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. I suggest you proceed with the setup using the remote, and instead of connecting it to your home Wi-Fi, connect it to your smartphone’s mobile hotspot. Observe if it still shows the same behavior. If it manages to complete the setup, you can disconnect it from the mobile hotspot and connect to the intended Wi-Fi via settings using the remote.
