Stopping bluetooth

So I have a Chromecast that a neighbor keeps trying to connect a pair of headphones to via bluetooth. I live in a large apartment building so there is no way to know who it is.

Is there a way to prevent someone from trying to connect to my device? I hit cancel every time it pops up. However, it will pop back up asking "Connect" or "Cancel" continually.

Hi Tgoodwin39,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I understand that you want to block or stop the unknown Bluetooth connections to your Chromecast. I’d be happy to help you. Let’s check it out.

Before we get started with advanced troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  1. What is the model of your Chromecast device?
  2. Does this situation occur frequently?
  3. Was your Chromecast fully paired to headphones at any time?

In the meantime, please check the following remarks:

  1. From the home screen on your TV, select your Google Account  All Settings .
  2. Select Remote & Accessories.
  3. Open Accessories, then review if the device is not listed to be removed.
  4. Depending on the device model you may select the discoverability of the Chromecast to disable it, however it might not be available.

In case it helps, you can also follow this good article to Connect Bluetooth devices to Google streaming devices (depending on your device model) or Troubleshoot Chromecast connection.

Please keep me posted.

Best,

Mario
