Previously (1-2 weeks ago) when I plugged my Google Home TV to my Samsung UN50RU7100 it correctly detected it as Google-TV and the input HDMI2 changed to Google-TV with a google icon. Now it just says it cannot detect the device connected to HDMI2 but google home tv works if I switch to HDMI2 manually.
Previously when the TV detected it correctly, I was able to use its universal control to control google home tv.
I don't know if this is a TV or Google Home TV issue. I tried resetting both but got the same results.
I checked and the TV is running the same firmware since last year. I don't know if the google home tv updated recently.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi goras,
Thanks for reaching out. To confirm, is the Chromecast plugged in directly to a power outlet? Please try to turn off your TV completely and unplug the Chromecast from the power outlet and HDMI port of your TV then plug it back in after 1 minute. Also, plugging the Chromecast on a different HDMI port in your TV might also help.
Let me know how it goes
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to us. If you have a different TV screen, please try to plug the Chromecast there. If the issue still persists, please reset your Chromecast and set it up again. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi, thanks for replying. I tested a factory reset on the g home tv again with no success. I will try on another tv later

I tested with an old tv and it seems hdmi-cec works there. Also on this tv it just does not detect the source as before, but it works. If I press the home button on the g home tv control, it changes the source to hdmi2 automatically (this is done through hdmi cec).
Also I tested on hdmi1 & 3 and got the same results.

Hi goras,
Thanks for the update. If it does work on a different TV, please reach out to your TV manufacturer. There might be some settings on your TV that needs to be checked.
Thanks,
Jennifer
