Ticking a box when being asked to verify I am human

Hello there. I'm trying to sign in to my NordVPN account on my Chromecast. When trying to do so, I am referred to a webpage where I'm being asked to verify I am human. However, for some reason, I have no way of ticking the box that needs to be ticked, for the process to be completed. I've tried using by Chromecast remote control and my TV's (LG) remote control, but to no avail. How do I tick the box in the browser?

Thanks!

Hi eytaneba,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. This NordVPN that you mentioned, is this an app that you installed in your Chromecast with Google TV? It seems that the issue is isolated to this app. After all, we haven’t received any similar posts about this for any other app or the actual Google TV interface. I suggest you reach out to NordVPN support for further help.

Let us know if you have other concerns related to your Chromecast device.

Thanks,

Kimy

Hello Kimy,

I can’t also click on it using Google TV interface on Chromecast.

Hello Kimy,

Yes, this is an app I've installed on my Chromecast.  I've encountered the problem of ticking the box when the 'verify I'm human' page opened on the Chromecast browser, though, not in the app itself. Having said that, I've managed to properly access the app after restarting the Chromecast for a second time.

Thanks!

Hello eytaneba,

Thanks for the reply. I’m glad you finally sorted this out. And about the VPN installation, I understand that most people use this for privacy reasons, but please be reminded that VPN alters (masks) IP addresses, which eventually might change the way the device communicates within the WLAN. It might affect the casting functions as your device may not be recognized by the casting source (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) and/or other devices within the network. If that happens, you may just use the stand-alone functions and install apps in your Chromecast with Google TV, but without the casting feature.

Let us know if you have other questions or concerns.

Cheers,

Kimy

Hi, I had the same problem. If You're in app only mode, disable it. It worked for me.

Disabling only App mode didn’t help.

Hi folks,

Appreciate what you shared here, @gyp.

@teaxdriv, is this happening on everything? Because the original post was limited only to certain parts of YouTube TV, everything else works perfectly. This means it has something to do with the YouTube TV app. If your case is different and the back button issue that you're experiencing applies to everything, then this has something to do with the remote, which you may need to troubleshoot. Kindly give us a clear description.

We look forward to your response.

Regards,

Kimy
