WI-FI problem

I didn’t have problems with connection to my home WI-FI network. After New Year holiday  Chomecast can see that network but can’t connect to it (Neither 5 nor 2,4). There is a phrase on the screen “No internet connection”. I rebooted device and router 5 time, it didn’t help. What has happened to chomecast? Maybe updates killed it?

I solved this problem. The problem was last updates. My way:

1. I have iPhone, so I connected to internet through it:

- settings-personal hotspot-allow others to join;

2. restored factory settings on chromecast (pressed button during ~15 sec)
3. Connected chromecast to wi fi network “iPhone”

4. New updates were downloaded.

5. Then I could connect to home wi-fi network 5 and 2,4 Ghz.

Verify if you actually have an internet connection.

Toggle the Chromecast device WiFi off and on, Be patient and allow it enough time to connect.

I am having the same issue. It sees the connection on the Chromecast with Google TV and says "Excellent" for connection, but won't stream anything. I also have Google Wifi for the home. All of the other devices in the house connect just fine. I can stream YouTube TV from any PC, Chromebook, or mobile device in the home without issues.

I restarted by Google Wifi network and the Chromecast with Google TV. When I run a speed test from the Google Home app, it says the connection is only running at 48kbps to the Chromecast. Speed test to my ISP is over 200Mbps. Bought my device in July of this year from Best Buy and it worked fine for months until just recently.

Forget (delete) the network and add it again.

The "Forget Network" tip did not work. I factory reset, unplugged everything for a few minutes, then set it up using Google Home on my phone. Something didn't work b/c the apps didn't download. Did it all again, but manually set it up on the TV instead of using my phone. Seems to be working for now. This is the 3rd time I have had to factory reset since I bought it in July. You would think Google Wifi, Chromecast, and Project Fi android phone should work well in concert.

I was hoping that forgetting the network and reconfigure it again would spare you the option to hard reset the device and performing the whole setup procedure again.
