Hello @JensFup,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your Chromecast with Google TV. It's completely understandable to be frustrated when a device isn't working as you'd expect, especially when it comes to something as basic as playing video and navigating content.

I can certainly help you with the issue of the audio playing but the video not appearing. This is often caused by a communication problem between your Chromecast and your TV.

Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this:

  • Perform a full power cycle: This can often reset the connection and resolve the issue.
  • Unplug the power cord from both your Chromecast and your TV.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the TV back in, and then plug the Chromecast back in.
  • Try a different HDMI port: If the problem persists, try plugging your Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV to see if that resolves the issue.
  • Check for firmware updates: Ensure both your Chromecast and your TV have the latest firmware. You can check for a Chromecast update in Settings > System > About > System update.

As for your feedback on the "Next" and "Previous" buttons, I understand how much easier that would make navigating your content. The Chromecast with Google TV remote is designed to use the directional pad for functions like fast-forward and rewind within an app, but there are no dedicated buttons for skipping tracks. This is a great suggestion, and the best way to ensure the product team hears your request is to send feedback directly.

You can submit feedback with the following steps:

  • On the TV screen, select your profile picture at the top right.
  • Go to Settings > System > About > Send feedback.
  • Write a detailed description of your request for "Next" and "Previous" buttons on the remote.

I hope these steps help you get the video working again, and your feedback is crucial for helping us improve our products. Please let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Kevin
