I read the recent post about the people who could not log onto prime through their chromecast device. I just wanted to add my situation. I have had the chromecast device on my tv for a couple years and have enjoyed access to prime without issue. The same for our second tv with an nvidia shield device. A couple weeks ago for some reason i was logged out of prime and went to log back in. I got the same issue the gentleman described with the delay and then the error message the a code could not be generated. I also tried reinstalling the app, updating chromecast, resetting the chromecast, rebooting my router and going on line to deregister legacy devices no longer in service on my prime account. I have no problem logging onto prime on my phone and computer. No problem logging on at my cabin in another state. However, I cannot log on to prime on my Nvidia shield in the same home as the chromecast problem I have no problem with my internet speed, I can access all my other streaming apps fine (peacock, paramount, netflix, max, hulu disney). If this was a widespread problem I could see it being an Amazon issue, but unless there have been thousands of complaints it would not make sense for it to be their problem. I think this is a problem with my network. Some network device is not allowing the password to be obtained. Unfortunately, I do not have enough knowledge of networks to troubleshoot the problem.

Hi dptbones,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it seems that your Chromecast device is working as intended. One way to isolate possible network issues is to disconnect it from your home WiFi and connect it to your mobile hotspot. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy
