chromecast wifi connection isssue since update

I have been using my Chromecast for more than 2 years now. a few days ago the device went into update mode since then I am not able to connect the device to the wifi .I have reset my router, I have reset the Chromecast to factory settings, I have uninstalled the home app,  but nothing, I can't get it to connect to the wifi.

also, I noticed I am getting an error saying the Chromecast was manufactured in a different country and might not work on your wifi connection? Don't know where this is coming from and how do I fix this, anyone, that might know how?

Hey there adi_0803,

I apologize about the late response on this thread, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that connection issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know these devices can be difficult to troubleshoot. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • What type of Chromecast do you have?
  • Are you connecting to a 2.4GHz network or a 5GHz network?
  • If you are connecting to a 5GHz network, is the channel range set to a lower channel? (36-48)
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
