Good news and tip to everyone still struggling to get a replacement
backplate for your Nest Protect 2nd Gen. I found that the @madebygoogle
Twitter handle was helping people with this issue and requesting people

TIP: I just found that by tweeting a DM directly to @madebygoogle,
you'll get someone that wants to help and can. Not sure why Google
Support takes a different approach but wanted to share how I got this
resolved.
