I get that, that's what I want also. But at the same time I don't wanna
be wasting the ability to at least use my surround sound system while
I'm stuck waiting for compatibility. I'm sure a lot of people here are
of the same mind
Okay, so basically you go into the Google Home app for your phone and
you click the device and click settings for that device. It should show
default tv and default speaker. Set them to desired tv and bam, Jester's
your uncle.
Also, via more recent tinkering I have confirmed that I can use a nest
hub to set the default audio and default tv to my android tv and all
music and videos automatically play on the tv when asked. So now I have
use of my surround sound.
So from what I've discovered from tinkering with my chromecast built in
devices is that the stock app for it without updates will show the tv in
the speaker group but as soon as I try to play something the tv updates
the app and it disappears. Its so...
