Hi, it didn't work for me either because I couldn't uninstall the Google App updates because the devices are managed by Google Familylink.I tinkered around for ages and then on one of the child's devices I went to g.co/voicematch, followed the wizard...

Happened to me recently too, Gen1 device. Waiting now for 2 weeks for the promised replacement device

I observe such problems again and again and then a few days later it works again, while the phone support as always gets nothing.
