Once you start the set up process, it displays a qr code on the screen
of the hub. That is the code the app is looking for. However, you may
have to reset your home app to get it to work
Yes, the 8 digit number is the one that worked, once I reset the home
app to factory and cleared the cache and data. Before that, I was
getting the exact same errors you were. The add process is a train wreck
for these items.
