Have you considered my workaround of creating a custom room name and
factory resetting speaker, placing in room so that the name is "[Room
name] speaker"? You can then put it in the actual room it belongs in and
it keeps the name.
Yes, that reset, but it doesn't fix the issue, it just allows you to
choose a room that it goes in. It doesn't ask me for a custom device
name during setup either, I just said you could make a custom _room_
