Nest Doorbell peeling

I have had the Nest Hello Doorbell for about 1.5 years and now it is peeling like crazy. It looks like a coating is coming off. Looks terrible. What can be done? Is this a quality control issue? Mario PanizzonOttawa, Ontario Canada
