If you bought the Nest 3rd gen second hand or it’s a return, reset the WWN and start wifi setup again. I setup my Nests through the Nest app first before bring them through to Google Home app. I just think it’s easier.

If the unit has been set up under a different user before, the key is to reset the WWN setting.

Did you buy your thermostat pre-used by any chance?  What model is it?
