This is a good workaround if you don't have a lot of devices you want to wire into your network and just need wifi. Nice work!

You might be able to use a router but if it is older, I'd spend the $30 to $50 and get a 1gbps dumb switch. I agree, this is not ideal but it's been working well so far.
