I just gave up and got the wired doorbell - which works perfectly. This
proves the issue was never my power supply but rather how the battery
doorbell operates/charges when wired.
I have the same problem with a 20V, 10VA adapter. I just think Google
did not design the doorbell to charge effectively from the wired
connection, so the battery gradually runs out.
