MacBook Air 2022 and google mesh compatibility issues - Wi-Fi dropping

My new MacBook Air will not stay connected to my google mesh - all of my other devices including my phone and iPad are fine. The MacBook shows connected to the Wi-Fi but won’t actually connect to the internet.
