I was able to figure out the reason why I couldn't invite them. The person I was inviting didn't have the Google Home / Nest App and once they downloaded the app, I was able to send the invite. So I hope this helps anyone else having invite issues - ...

Thanks for trying to help. I did type their Gmail in and it doesn't do anything after I click the NEXT button. None of the other verification steps generate. The screen just stays on the "input email" screen. Super frustrated - arggggg

Yes they do. They're in my contacts and when they pop up on the drop-down list, I click their name and nothing happens when I click the NEXT button.
