Is Rain-X or another rain repellant recommended for my Google Nest camera lens?

My Google Nest camera is in a location where raindrops land on it. I'm considering using Rain-X on the lens so that the rain rolls off the lens. Is this safe for the lens or is there another treatment recommended for rain repelling?
