For those getting this error, I would recommend that you install
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.projengmenu .
You can then make it so that this is your new apps launcher instead of
Google TV.
We had the exact same topic a year ago and was patiently waiting for
Google to fix it but no action was made. I was going to post this on
that thread but it was closed.
if google isn't going to resolve this, can you at least provide a way
for us to revert back to the version before this update so we can gain
back the use of the device?
I think you're misunderstanding the issue we have. It's not that the
resolutions are not available, it's that it won't display in resolutions
lower than 720p.
I just posted the same issue and pretty sure it was caused by a software
update. Don't really know why they made the update as it was working
fine with the lower display resolutions.
