Can a hot water cylinder thermostat be connected to a Nest controlled system to ensure that hot water in the tank is not overheated? If so, how?

I assume from other posts that there is no way to put a switch heat to off event on the schedule. I strongly request that this be built into the app as I am absolutely amazed that the programmers didn't do it. Most manual controls have this facility!
