I forgot to take a photo before closing everything but it connected the same like this person. Only difference is that my C wire is black and not blue.

Thanks for checking, it’s working great the way I connected it. I might add that it’s a relief not hearing the furnace run non stop anymore. Much easier to adjust with a Nest thermostat even with old equipment.

I ended up doing some more research and was able to install the Nest easily. My black wire labeled as X seems to be a C common side so that’s where I plugged it on Nest plate. I connected all other wires the same as my old thermostat but didn’t put a...

Forgot to mention .. I have an electric furnace without air conditioning. It’s getting hot in here I might need one soon if I don’t fix my thermostat  Thanks !
