Google Nest Hub Max - connects to wifi but we could not communicate with my IPhone

I have just purchased the Google Nest Hub Max and it successfully connect to my Netgear Wifi, but it says it cannot connect to my iPhone. My setting for that Wifi connection does allow local connections. I do have Norton 360, so I did turn off my VPN...
