When I ask the Nest mini to "play BBC radio 4", my phone wakes up and
displays exactly what I said, but the mini says "playing BBC radio 1"
and then plays Radio 1. This survives reboots and resets and used to
work perfectly for years.
Indeed. Eventually it will work. Also if I type it into the Google
Assistant on my phone to play on the mini, that always works. It is
clearly, like all the similar problems reported, a Google problem, not a
station problem.
Agreed. Incorporating this is a trivial matter for the company, but
having got involved with home automation as a result of setting up an
annex for my mother, this is a really important thing for many users.
Not really. I get this all the time for commands that it does understand
sometimes. I currently have a situation where "turn on tree lights"
works perfectly, but Google says it doesn't understand "turn off tree
lights" .
