oh thanks you saved the day! I clear data for the Google TV app and it works now, I didn't uninstalled updates though. It proves that clearing cache wasn't enough.

I've tried factory reset, restarting, power off and on, system update, updating all apps, switching to different google accounts, non of them helped. The bright side is that you still can access Google Play and download apps.

I just bought one today and experiencing the same exact issue...can't find anything helpful online..
