Chromecast 4k error when formatting usb. Could not format

I am trying to add usb storage to my chromecast 4kThe chromecast recognizes the USB and asks to format it. The process starts but then I see the home screen with an error message "Could not format"I have formatted the usb as FAT32 but nothing happens...
