Thanks for the "Pro" tip! I just tried it and the Nest thermostat
asked me to put in a a Pro ID. I tried entering something random, but it
appears that the thermostat validates the ID.
What do you mean by bricked? A humidistat is only going to control
opening or closing the humidifier's water solenoid (bypass type). It's
possible that there could have been a short which affected the solenoid,
but that's likely to be due to a wiring...
Your ability to control humidity levels using a Nest thermostat depends
directly on the model of thermostat you're using. You'll need a Learning
Thermostat model to have more direct control over humidity levels.
