None of that helps. I loaded a free app from the Microsoft store called AV Cast. on the same laptop that does not see any of the 6 Chromecast in Chrome, when I run AV Cast it sees all the Chromecasts. This eliminates a lot and points to something in ...

it isn't an issue of the Chromecast getting a signal in my case. I downloaded the software in the link above and installed it on the laptop that I am having problems with. It sees and casts the Chromecast but Chrome can't see them on the same laptop....

I am having a similar problem, if you can see the Chromecast from this app from the Microsoft store, it is a chrome problem. https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/av-cast/9WZDNCRDMB1W?hl=xh-za&gl=zaI haven't figured out anything else yet
