Hmmm...My conditions to maintain the casting:a) Chrome must not be minimised.b) Other application must not be maximised.Edge has the same problem.

Same issue. Keeping Chrome open does not work for me, a few seconds after changing fullscreen focus to another application, sound goes bad as originally described..
