I spoke with Google Support today. According to them the fix has been made and is currently being pushed out to devices. They told me they were so far 50% through the US. The rollout is region dependant so it will depend where you are located.

Yes I did thanks. I've also spoken to someone from support and I do hear the click, so I don't think it's actually a problem with the thermostat. I've got a plumber coming to have a look at changing the valve head.

I've submitted feedback. Having the same issue. Was this a bad software update? The camera clearly still works as it recognises me and video calls work on it. When do you think you'll have a fix out for this?
