Its a bit of a back-and-forth, and usually takes 1-2 days to get a
reply. There is a shortage with specific Ash color I have, so we also
trying to overcome this point.Would be much easier if I just could use
the doorbell without the mount...

functional without the mount.I'm still waiting for the instructions from
Nest Support to get the replacement.
I've bought a used doorbell on ebay. It only had the doorbell and the
original package.Do not see an option to change mount type in Settings |
Device information, only the device information itself.
