I contacted the ISP and asked for a new IP address and that finally solved the problem. Apparently Google play didn't work on any of our android devices but we hadn't noticed it.

Hi Kimy. Unfortunately my worries were confirmed. Once the Google tv chromecast is connected to the tp link mesh wifi network again it is no longer possible to download apps or updates... It is not even starting downloads but stops at "waiting ".

I did a factory reset and installed the Google tv chromecast using a mobile hotspot as suggested and it worked! Thanks a lot for that! Now switched it back to the correct wifi to stream. However switching over to mobile hotspot every time you want to...
