I would suggest you factory reset it again, and exchange it for a new
one. If I had the opportunity, and I didn't have a circuit tester
available, I'd probably try it at another residence to rule out a supply
problem, but odds are you just got a dud.
The power connector on the Max can seem to be inserted when it isn't
fully engaged. Press on it a bit and see if you don't hear a little snap
when it clicks in. If that doesn't help, try plugging in the adapter
