Thanks for the input. I was looking for a diagram with my set up and with your help I have found it. I will check the wiring from the diagram and confirm that the original install of the doorbell and chime was correct.

Thanks for your reply. I did re checked wiring all secure and not touching any other wires. The chime is attached to T(ransformer) and F(ront) as mentioned in the guide.Transformer is 16V @ 15VA which is within spec of the what the Nest needs for pow...
