For the benefit of others who may have the same issue, I found a
solution. I needed to replace an old wired electronic chime (which I
need to have a volume control to carry the sound throughout my house)
that would work with my 2nd Gen Nest doorbell ...
My chime pick is connected properly, and I upgraded the transformer. The
isn’t an installation issue. The problem is with my chime. I’m looking
for a recommendation for a wired, electronic chime for two doors, but no
one seems to be able to help.

button doorbells (and would distinguish between the doors with different
