common tooling that is open source - Allow people the option to
contribute. Make pretty hardware and make it easy to use for normies,

Came here to post this too - I would also like to see matter support for
the thermostat. Submitting a chat request to talk to an entry level
person in a callcenter seems like a poor way to gate feature requests. I
