I do understand your frustration. If you're able to do the update by
merely unplugging the router to let the update happen you should not
have to re-commission or redo your automations.
This problem does not occur with the latest Nanoleaf firmware.
Unfortunately, this problem interferes with the firmware updater.To work
around you can temporarily unplug the Nest Wifi Pro while performing the
firmware update. Alternatively, manually ...
If that's failing (I believe it should work..) you could unplug the Nest
Wifi Pro router and try either the firmware update via the app or the
bulb FDR procedure.
