Thanks for the reply. I returned it. I am still using my original, earlier generation, Chromecast with no issues.

Chromecast is about 15 feet away from the router. No walls. Neither 2.4 or 5.0 work. In the troubleshooting guide it recommended 2.4. You are not the only one to recommend 5.0, so who knows. That you for the suggestions though.
